i just came back from my first ever ski trip!!! hee.. =D
we departed at 3am on friday morning from school.. and it took us around 6 hours to get to falls creek! =D
my first sight of snow in real life.. =D
it was soooo foggy on the mountain..
we reached there around 10am, put our stuff in our room, had cupnoodles lunch and collected our ski equipment!! =D
there's me on the ski lift!! hahahah! i sat on the ski lift alone for the first time leh!! so brave right? hahaha! actually no lah. it was 'cos we didn't get onto the ski lifts in time.. so the three of us got split up.. and the ski lifts were so scary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we were like suspended don't know how many thousand metres (i'm exaggerating) above the ground.. and everytime the lift passed a junction, the whole thing will jerk and rattle a little.. my goodness.. i was SO scared. hahahaah! but the view was amazing.. =D
hanting, chui hoon and i were late for class 'cos chui hoon had to change her ski boots 'cos they were too tight.. but we just joined an ongoing class.. our instructor was this jap lady.. and i think actually she didn't really want us to join 'cos they had already started the class.. but we sort of insisted and hung around and just followed what everyone was doing.. so she accepted us. hahahahah!
skiing is really fun!!!! it's quite easy to pick up too!! =D too bad we only had half a day at the slopes.. if not we could have skiied and practised more.. =D
here's me with my skis!! =D can you see the falling snow?? =D oh ya! it was SUPER cold on that day.. we like experience so many types of weather lor.. got hail, snow, and i think sleet? i should have wrapped my scarf around my mouth and nose 'cos they were being hit by the stupid hail.. very painful. hahahah!

and i totally didn't look cool in my ski attire 'cos the jacket was too short.. and i had yucky kahki-colour pants.. but i don't care.. i was a good student.. hahaaha! oh ya!!! and you know right.. at the end of the day.. i think i almost had frostbite.. i don't know what lah.. but my fingers were SO COLD that they hurt SO MUCH even when i wasn't even applying pressure or moving them. my goodness. i nearly broke down.. they were like swollen and of a different colour from the rest of my hand.. i was seriously in DEEP DEEP pain.. and i think i totally freaked hanting out 'cos i was freaking out in front of her. hahaha! but thank you Jesus for restoring my fingers back to normal!!! =D =D (the next day when i went snowboarding, i wore 2 gloves on each hand. hahahah!)
here's us, the girls, at the end of day one at the fireplace in the lodge.. oh ya.. the place that we stayed at is called halley's lodge.. it's this really nice lodge with rooms and spa and a dining room.. it's like very cosy and owned by a family.. and very nice one.. for dinner and breakfast the guy owner, this old aussie man, will come out and say hi to us and introduce us to the menu for the day.. =D and it's like the whole place, including the ski rental shop, is ran by a family.. =D
after dinner chai insisted on exploring the place.. so we followed the map and managed to find this lounge place.. oh no, i don't know the name of that place.. hahaha! but it was really nice.. and they had a fireplace too!! =D
they even had this corner of comfy couches, which we sat at.. and there were like chess sets, and even stuffed toys!! hahaha! chui hoon and i ordered hot drinks 'cos we were really tired, and the rest shared a bottle of wine.. =D here are us girls posing with the stuffed toys.. hahahah!
the next day we decided to try snowboarding!! wa it was definitely MUCH harder to pick up snowboarding than it was to pick up skiing.. but still, i had alot of fun.. but very very tiring.. hahaha! and my feet were aching.. but our instructor was good! i still remember his name.. chris.. and hanting and i agreed that he's very cute.. hahahah! a cute middle-age guy.. hahahah! and he was very nice too! and he always commended me on my progress!! hee.. =D he would be like, "good job, mate" or "*something*, mate".. can't really remember also.. but i was quite frightened 'cos i was wondering if "mate" was a unisex term.. 'cos with the goggles and the beanie and my scarf covering the rest of my face and my hair hidden, i liked like a guy lah. hahahahahahahhahahaha!!!!!!
there! look like anot? hahahahahhaha!!!!
anyway, after the lesson, we went for lunch at the restaurant there.. then after that the girls didn't want to snowborad anymore 'cos they felt really tired and that it was too hard.. but i really wanted to continue!!! and i wanted to go for the second lesson.. but then decided to just practise by myself on the slopes.. i tried. i really did.. but in the end i gave up also 'cos i didn't know how to turn properly.. i tried following what chris told us.. but the stupid board just didn't want to turn to the left!! i only could make it turn to the right.. hahaha! so i gave up.. i really should have gone for the second lesson lah.. but by the time i decided, the lessons already started and i couldn't join in anymore..
so i took the ski lifts back and thank God managed to catch the girls as they were going back to the lodge.. and we decided to........ BUILD OUR VERY OWN SNOWMAN!!!!! hee! =D
it was really so much fun.. gathering all the snow.. packing the snow together and from a small 'lil lump of snow on the ground, it became............. MR. SNOWMAN!!! =D
so proud of it! and plus it must have felt so honoured to wear my beanie and my scarf.. so it was a jiayuan-snowman. hahaha! =D and people noticed it and ran to take picture of him too!! =D
and we tried making snow angels but the snow wasn't suitable... =( here's shirleen and hanting..
and thennnnn... the next day.. someone decapitated mr. snowman!!!! chai put a branch of leaves as flowers for the headless snowman..

oh ya on our last night everyone gathered in our (chui hoon, me, chai, hanting) room and we played this game that we found in the lodge called cranium! the box didn't have any instructions so we just made up our own rules.. and it was really fun!! hahahaha! it's like a combination of pictionary, charades, trivia and brainy questions.. it was really really fun and so funny too.. =D =D =D i'll miss that night man... =D

that's it! =D had a really good time there.. trying not to fall down on the slippery parts of the snow with our hardly-any-friction sneakers.. sinking into the thick, soft snow on our walks, bearing the cold cold weather, learning two new sports... amazing amazing!! =D i would definitely want to go ski next winter again!!! =D =D yay! =D

oh ya! and i watched Transformers with hanting yesterday! it was so so so good!!!! =D michael bay is fantastic man.. =D

hihi! =D oh man, 5 weeks have just flew by very very quickly ever since i came back to melbourne from singapore.. and many many things have happened!! my clinicals are over.. which i am very sad about 'cos i really enjoyed myself and i miss the radiographers there!!!! i hope they miss me too!! hahaha.. didn't get to take pictures with them 'cos they were having a meeting on the last day that i was there.. =( but look! on my way to the clinic i'll always pass by this small little rose garden in front of a school! how cool is that!! =D i love roses.. =D
the chief radiographer was very nice.. he gave me a box of chocolates on my last day and a card.. and i gave them a tin of famous amos cookies and a card too!! =D ahhh.. i miss them!! =(
bee was here in melbourne for 3 days too.. but i only got to meet her one night 'cos she was here with her dad.. we had yummy max brenner's in the city!! =D
and mummy came to visit too!! =D oh man.. we ATE so much.. hahaha! you know i gained 1kg ever since she came??!! hahahah! all my efforts of maintaining my weight in winter have gone down the drain lah! hahaha! but now that semester two is starting.. i'm going to try again!! =D no more carbs for dinner.. and just a sandwich for lunchie!! jia you jiayuan!! hahaha =D

we went to the new eureka tower that is EIGHTY EIGHT storeys high!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahahahah! madness i tell you.. so we went up to the 88th floor.. and the view was really amazing.. we went at night.. so all the city lights were up.. wow wow wow.. it's like 360 degrees view of melbourne.. =D
and... we discovered this terrace place on the 88th floor where you could go out into the open air.. and oh man.. it was SOOOOOOOOO windy.. hahahaha! seriously serious.. very very very windy.. we were like almost blown away lah.. thank God they fenced up the whole place.. hahaha! we took some pictures but i'm not going to post them 'cos i look like i'm bald lah! all my hair was like blown to the back. hahahaha! but it was really really really quite an experience! so windy and so cold.. 88-storeys-high windy and cold. madness. hahahaha!
and not sure if you guys can see it.. but there's this ferris wheel thingy that is lighted up with many different types of lights.. =D really very nice if you're there to see it =D (it's blue in this picture)
then they had some moving words thingy on the floor too.. quite nicely done lah. =D
they had this platform which you could get onto (but need to pay) where they will launch it out.. and the platform is glass.. so it's like.. you'll in the middle of the sky. hahaha! like 88th storeys above ground level.. but mummy and i didn't take that.. =D
and the lift back down to the ground floor had the sign "down to earth".. quite cute =D
we also went to st kilda beach! =D
ate at this high class restaurant, stokehouse, that hanting recommended.. my risotto was very yummy.. mummy's local snapper too.. and the salad and the bread too!! =D and the restaurant was just beside the beach! =D
and i brought mummy to Monarch Cakes to eat the very very very very yummy chocolate kogelkorf cake!!! =D =D wow.. i haven't had it ever since chai and i first discovered the place.. and it was still REALLY good. =D it's unique to that cakeshop... =D and i had yummy chocolate drink and mummy had her black coffee =D
and we went to dandenong mountains too!!! =D =D it was quite near to my place! maybe just 1 hour drive? =D
ate at the famous miss marples' place.. =D nice quaint little teahouse.. =D
went to SkyHigh.. this place on the top of the mountain where there's a good view of the whole melbourne.. =D very cool 'cos we could see the CBD far far away.. like a cluster of office buildings in the skyline.. =D
there was this giant chair thingy too! =D it's hugeeee. hahaha
and this funny tree with a "house" for Mr. Possum.. hahaha!
and we saw a cuckabara! i don't know how to spelll.. but deborah, my mummy was reciting a nursery rhyme with cuckabara in it.. i thought you might know it! =D
and mummy and i decided to take the forest walk.. we walked through the forest on the mountain.. and saw signs to this Burke's Lookout place.. so we decided to go there.. wa.. i haven't walked on a mountain in a long time.. but it was really really nice.. mummy said that the air was very fresh.. but i couldn't really tell the difference.. hahaha! and there was this part that was superrrr steep lah.. we were like panting.. hahahah
and we finally reached the lookout!!!!!! =D it was amazing!! it's like.. a very untouched lookout.. and if we just took a wrong step.. we'll be like rolling down the mountain.. hahaha! very very VERY steep.. and the path was very small.. our legs felt like jelly lah.. hahaha! but i managed to put the camera on timer and put it on a ledge (very risky 'cos it could have fallen.. hahaha!).. and we took a picture with the magnificent view!! =D
oh ya! on our way back we saw a plague in the middle of the forest on a slope.. it was decided to 18 crew members of a flight that crashed 500m from that plague in the mountains many many years back.. very sad 'cos there were no survivors.. =(
and we met a dog, george, and his owner.. george was very very cute.. but mummy was scared of him.. hahaha! he was really smart too.. and his owner said that he has the kindest soul ever.. =D mummy, i want a doggie too =D
when we went back to the main SkyHigh place (civilisation.. hahaha), the sun was setting.. and the view was very very nice! =D
but mummy didn't want to wait to see all the lights come on.. so we missed that.. but it's ok!! i had a very very good time already =D
oh ya! we had korean bbq one day too!! and had SO MUCH meat. hahaha! pork, chicken, beef, calamari... and it's amazing 'cos we managed to finish it all!! hahahha! =D
brought mummy shopping too.. and we ate other yummy food too.. sofia's, ying thai, il dolce freddo, yum cha etc etc.. =D
oh!! and i forgot to take a picture of the car that i rented!! it was a nice yellow hyundai getz that was REALLY nice to drive!! =D =D =D just returned it at noon today.. oh ya! and i got my exam results yesterday! =D just for 3 subjects.. then for the other 2 subjects they are still marking.. praise Jesus for the results!!! =D it's a miracle really =D
school's starting on monday already!! so fast leh.. i don't know if i'm ready or not.. hahaha! oh man.. lectures again.. hahahaha! quite sian diao.. hahahah! i just want a few more days of holiday please!! hahahaha but now i'm looking forward to the ski trip!! =D =D =D
